Dreaming Big, Together

As Fiver looks toward its next chapter, we wanted to hear from the people who know our community best.

Earlier this year, more than 100 members of the Fiver community—including current participants, families, alumni, staff, volunteers, board members, donors, and community partners—shared their hopes for Fiver's future through our Dream Big Survey. Their insights will help shape our next strategic plan and ensure that as we grow, we stay true to what makes Fiver, Fiver.

The message was inspiringly consistent. Community members imagined bold possibilities—from serving more young people and expanding opportunities beyond high school to investing in our camp, staff, and facilities. But just as importantly, there was overwhelming agreement about what should never change: our 10-year commitment, the relationships at the heart of our work, the traditions that define Camp Fiver, and our commitment to ensuring every child can participate at no cost to their family.

This summer, our Board of Directors will bring these insights to Camp Fiver for our annual Board Retreat, where they'll continue these conversations as we shape the organization's future. We look forward to sharing more in the months ahead as our next strategic plan takes shape—grounded in the voices of the community that has built Fiver together.

We are especially grateful to The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and the incredible group of MBA students (Mrigank Shah, Cecilia Dolan, Janvi Mehta, Naitik Reshamwala, Zach Lamb, Deebas Dhar) who worked with the Fiver team to provide pro-bono analysis of the survey results as well as thoughtful research and insights on scaling programs and our fundraising efforts as we think strategically about Fiver’s future.
