 Welcome to Camp Fiver!

Let us show you around!

1 Aerial view.jpg

Located in Poolville, NY, Camp Fiver consists of 129 acres of open space, forest, and lake. The original inhabitants of the land were the Oneida people. Prior to becoming Camp Fiver, this land was owned by the Keefe Family, who ran a dairy farm on the property.

2 Dining Hall.jpg

The Dining Hall

Three times a day, campers and staff gather in the Dining Hall for nutritious meals, conversation, and after the seconds-bell rings, singing.

3 Pavilion.jpg

The Pavilion

The Camp Fiver community kicks off each morning at the Pavilion with a Thought of the Day, a reflection on Camp Fiver values that each cabin takes a turn hosting. The Pavilion is a spot for classes, evening events like the camp-wide dance, and annual SERVE graduation, where program graduates share their reflections and inspire younger participants.

4 Cabins.jpg

The Cabins

While at camp, youth live in age-group assigned cabins with two counselors who serve as teachers, role models and mentors. Cabins groups are families within the larger camp community and a source of pride for campers. Co-living provides opportunities for Fivers to learn about teamwork, conflict resolution, and self-care.

The Burrow

Serving as a library, classroom, and cool respite from hot summer sun, the Burrow programming keeps campers engaged in literacy and year-round learning.

6 Horsebarn.jpg

The Horsebarn

Possibly the most popular camp program, the Horsebarn is home to five horses, and the occasional goat and chicken.

7 Garden.jpg

The Garden

Campers get their hands dirty and their bellies full of healthy produce while working in the Fiver garden. It’s a popular spot for hands-on lessons on environmental science and frequent bunny sightings.

8 Trail to Tucker Point.jpg

The Trail to Tucker Point

Long walks between main camp grounds and Tucker Point, a gathering place by the lake, provide the opportunity for campers and counselors to connect, reflect, and get their steps in.

The Waterfront

The waterfront is home to many favorite camp activities - fishing, boating, and swimming. Swimming lessons for all campers start in the first years of camp in the pool; as comfort and skills build, campers get more opportunities to swim in the lake. On hot July days, the lake is the place to be!

10 Campfire.JPG

The Campfire

Two weeks at camp aren’t complete without a campfire!

11 Creek.jpg

The Creek

The creek that runs along the edge of camp lets Fivers learn about the environment by getting involved directly in it! The bank of the creek is the perfect place for a quiet cabin activity or a 1-on-1 conversation.

12 Music outside.jpg

Music Outside

Much summer programming takes place on the shaded porches of main camp buildings. Creativity and expression are core to the Fiver experience - with a backdrop of green fields and forests, campers learn, explore and create.

13 Computer lab.jpg

The Computer Lab

The only electronic screens at Camp Fiver are located in the Computer Lab. Here, Fiver high schoolers complete research for their debate classes and complete college applications.

14 Fields.jpg

The Fields

With 90% of the Fiver population coming from densely populated areas of the New York City, the open fields give Fivers a chance to run free, playing soccer, softball, ultimate frisbee, capture the flag and many silly invented camp games.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Alissa, age 10, sums up the feeling of being at Camp Fiver that many of our participants experience: “I want to go back to camp because I had so much fun there. It feels like a second home... It feels like heaven.” Thanks for visiting!
