EverBank Builds at Camp: Launching Fiver’s Trades Skill Rotation Pilot

We are excited to share the beginning of a meaningful new partnership between Fiver Children’s Foundation and EverBank—one rooted in shared values, community investment, and expanding opportunity for young people.

Our relationship with EverBank has already taken shape in powerful ways. Through Kline Hill’s THE Secondary Day, Fiver was selected as the primary beneficiary—an early example of EverBank’s commitment to supporting organizations that build brighter futures. We are also proud to have Christina Bohm, Managing Director at EverBank, as a dedicated member of Fiver’s Board of Directors. Christina has been a champion of Fiver for nearly a decade, beginning on our Young Professionals Committee and now serving on our Board for just over two years. Since joining EverBank in August 2025, she has continued to strengthen the connection between our two organizations.

At EverBank, financial success for clients and communities is a top priority. Through the EverBank Builds CRA Charitable Grant Program, Fiver has been selected to receive support for a new pilot initiative: Fiver’s Trades Skill Rotation Program at Camp Fiver.

As the post-secondary landscape continues to evolve, many young people face limited exposure to nontraditional career pathways—particularly in the skilled trades. In response, Fiver is expanding its programming to ensure youth have access to hands-on, career-connected learning experiences that reflect today’s economy.

Fiver’s new two-week Trades Skill Rotation Program will serve youth ages 14–18, offering hands-on workshops in auto maintenance, carpentry, electrical and plumbing, and landscaping. Through these rotating stations, participants will build practical skills, explore sustainable career pathways, and reflect on how trade-based opportunities can support their future success beyond traditional post-secondary routes. EverBank’s support makes this pilot possible—and positions us to evaluate and potentially expand the program in future summers.

This partnership extends beyond financial support. On February 20, Christina and two EverBank colleagues joined Fiver youth for a field trip to the New York Hall of Science during our Mid-Winter Mini Camp program.

Our Mid-Winter Mini Camp serves youth ages 8–18 during school breaks, providing enrichment, supervision, and joyful learning experiences. Christina and her colleagues jumped right in—bringing energy, Fiver spirit, and hands-on support throughout the day. They helped supervise youth on transportation, engaged alongside campers in interactive exhibits, and strengthened relationships simply by showing up.

In true Fiver fashion, they earned volunteer dog tags—a longstanding Fiver tradition recognizing community members who step up and support our young people.

Building What’s Next: We are grateful to EverBank not only for investing in this pilot program, but for building a relationship grounded in shared purpose. Together, we are creating new pathways for Fivers—pathways that expand access, build practical skills, and prepare youth for success in a changing economy.

This is just the beginning, and we look forward to growing this partnership in the years ahead!
