LEARN, TAP, LEAD... SERVE !

SERVE is the new name of Fiver's program for 17 year-old participants who have successfully completed the LEARN, TAP and LEAD programs.   Last year, we called this program CIT or Counselor in Training program.   Since the program involves much more than training to become a counselor, we have renamed it to more accurately describe the position.   The SERVE team will bring the spirit of Fiver into action.   This program is your chance to give back to the Fiver community, to gain valuable work experience and to impact young Fivers in a positive way.  

The SERVE team member role is a paid position and involves staying at camp for four weeks.   During the remainder of the summer, Fiver is working on providing paid positions in New York City through Summer Youth Employment.   SERVE team members will help out in some of the following areas:   

•  Assisting Cabin Counselors

•  Assisting camp nurse in Health Center

•  Working in kitchen as assistant cook or dishwasher

•  Working with maintenance team

•  Managing camp office

•  Working as lifeguard at pool or lake

•  Assisting Activity Specialists and Adventure Learning Teachers

Potential SERVE team members will receive a letter from the Camp Director inviting them to participate.   This program is open only to Fiver participants.
