Fiver will be hosting a garden day on Thursday, June 27th, to teach kids about healthy living, nutrition, and the important role farmers and gardeners play in the community. We needed to gather garden supplies, cookware, and fresh produce in order to present this event. Through the support of several outstanding local businesses, we will be able to make the dream of hosting garden day into a reality! Take a look below at who's providing what and follow the links to check out the websites of these generous donors and supporters of Fiver.
Garden Supplies courtesy of Plant Shed New York Flowers
Plant Shed was kind enough to donate soil, compost, planters, pots and watering cans.
Cookware courtesy of Whisk
Whisk generously donated mixing bowls, cutting boards and kid-friendly knives for the cooking portion of garden day.
Fresh produce courtesy of several local CSA's
Katchkie Farm and Garden of Eve CSA are kindly giving us fresh vegetables while Yorkville CSA is providing fresh produce, soil, and seeds.
The Farm at Miller's Crossing is donating the plants that we will continue to grow all summer and the plants kids will get to take home. The Community Teamworks Program at Goldman Sachs is providing Fiver with the necessary volunteers and additional funds to make the day a big success.
Thanks to all these wonderful local organizations acting in support of Fiver. We couldn't present garden day without you!
